About FUNDMANAGER.co.uk

Our Purpose

FUNDMANAGER.co.uk was built with a single goal in mind: to give private investors and amateur retail traders the comparative analysis tools they need to make informed investment decisions.

The financial markets can be overwhelming. With thousands of investment options spanning ETFs, investment trusts, REITs and individual shares across global markets, finding the best opportunities means comparing performance across different time horizons, industries and regions. This website provides exactly that capability — and most of it is free, with no paywall and no sign-in needed to read the reports.

Whether you want to know which sectors are outperforming, which markets are showing strength, which shares have the strongest momentum, or how one investment compares with others in its category, FUNDMANAGER.co.uk gives you the tools to analyse and compare — helping you look for new opportunities with confidence.

Performance Reports Over Multiple Time Horizons

Understanding performance means looking at more than one time scale. The homepage reports show each bucket's movement for the day, week, month, quarter, year and calendar year, and the detailed reports lay out the history side by side, like a spreadsheet:

Report Type Time Coverage (detailed reports) Best Used For
Daily Reports Up to 31 days of daily price movements Short-term signals, momentum, the impact of recent news
Weekly Reports Up to 26 weeks of weekly performance Medium-term trend analysis, swing trading opportunities
Monthly Reports Up to 36 months of monthly returns Long-term trend identification, strategic allocation decisions
Quarterly & Annual The latest quarter and rolling year (homepage reports) Checking whether a recent move fits the bigger picture
Calendar Reports Up to 10 calendar years, plus the year to date Historical perspective and year-on-year comparisons

Each column heading shows the closing-price date it covers, every percentage is worked out from closing prices, and you can step back through earlier periods with the Previous / Current buttons. A one-line summary above each report tells you how many rose and fell, and which did best and worst.

Example: You notice that Technology ETFs have shown strong performance in the Monthly Report. Switching to the Daily Report shows whether that momentum is continuing or whether there's been a recent pullback that might present a buying opportunity.

Flexible Report Views

One of the most powerful features is the ability to view the same data from multiple angles. For shares you can group any report by Industry, Industry Sector and Sector Detail. For ETFs and collective investments, the ETF summary grids group the data by:

Country View

Group investments by the country or region they focus on. Quickly identify which markets are outperforming — are Asian markets beating European markets this month? Is the UK showing relative strength?

Category View

Organise by investment category such as Equity, Fixed Income, Commodities or Mixed Assets, and see which asset classes are leading the market.

Provider View

Group by fund provider (iShares, Vanguard, SPDR and others) to compare how different fund houses' products perform within similar strategies.

Type & Industry Views

Analyse by fund type and structure, or by industry: Technology, Healthcare, Financial Services, Energy, Consumer Discretionary and more.

Advanced Views (Two-Level Grouping)

Region+ View

Grouped by global region (Europe, Asia, Americas), then by country within each region.

Country+, Type+ and Provider+ Views

Grouped by country, type or provider, then by investment subcategory — see what kinds of investments are working within each group.

Industry Detail+ View

Grouped by industry, then by sub-sector. For example, within Technology, compare Software with Hardware and Semiconductors.

Example: Using the Industry Detail+ view, you discover that while the overall Healthcare sector is flat, the Biotechnology sub-sector has gained 8% this month. This granular insight helps you target specific opportunities rather than broad sector bets.

Performance Metrics

  • % Price Movement — the percentage change in closing price over the selected period, green for gains and red for falls.
  • Volume — trading volume, to spot shares with increasing or unusual activity, often a precursor to significant price moves.
  • % Volume Movement — the change in volume compared with the previous period, highlighting rising or fading interest.
  • Graphs — open price graphs (with the 20, 50 and 200-day moving averages) or percentage graphs for up to ten investments at a time, right beside the list.

Market Roundups Free — no sign-in needed

The roundups pick out the headlines for you, so you can see in a minute what moved the market:

Daily, Weekly and Monthly Roundups — UK and US

The best and worst performers of the day, week or month, split above and below £20 / $20 per share, with how many rose and fell, the industries that led and lagged, and tables or graphs. See the UK Daily, UK Weekly, UK Monthly, US Daily, US Weekly and US Monthly roundups. You can step back to earlier periods too.

Momentum Roundup

Which shares keep closing higher (or lower) day after day. A 10-day view shows the shares up on the most of the last 10 closes and those that are accelerating — up over 3, 5, 7 and 10 days and gaining more at each step — while a 20-day view ranks shares up 20 days in a row first, then by the most up-days out of 20, with spotlights and graphs. Filter by industry and by any market: UK, US, Germany, France, Canada or China.

Averages Roundup

Where every share sits against its 20, 50 and 200-day moving averages: how many are above each, which crossed above or below on the latest close, the longest runs, and golden and death crosses (the 50-day average crossing the 200-day) — for every market.

Example: The Momentum Roundup shows a mining share that has closed higher on 9 of the last 10 days and is accelerating. The Averages Roundup confirms it has just crossed above its 200-day average — two independent signals worth a closer look on its price page.

Momentum & Moving-Average Tools Premium

For members who want to dig deeper than the roundups, three screening tools share the same spreadsheet-style table — stock, code, bucket, industry, sector and detail, with one-click graphs and watchlist / portfolio buttons on every row:

Momentum

Every share's move over 3, 5, 7, 10, 13, 15, 17 and 20 trading days, how many of those days it closed higher, and whether it is accelerating — alongside its position against the moving averages and, for US shares, analyst ratings. Filter by market, industry, sector and moving-average signals, sort by any column, and export to CSV or Excel.

Averages Screener

One-click screens — full uptrend, fresh breakouts, back above the 20-day, pullback in an uptrend, stretched, oversold, golden and death crosses, full downtrend — or build your own from above / below each average, crossings, trend and distance from the 20 and 200-day averages. Download the results as CSV.

Search Averages

Search for shares by moving-average direction, crossings ("switches"), trend and trend length, on the latest day or a past date, grouped by industry if you wish.

About the Data

Prices come from third-party market data providers and are updated after each trading day. Every percentage on the site is the change in closing price over the period shown, and moving averages are averages of daily closing prices. A "day" in the momentum reports means a trading day's close.
